Epiphany Anglican Fellowship

Community

Knowing Christ is best done in Community and by Worshipping Christ, Experiencing Christ, and Sharing Christ.  Therefore, our churches are built around weekend, and weekly "Life Groups."  These are small groups of people within and outside of our community that tend to be geographically close to one another, or are interested in a particular topic.  Some of our groups help people get to Know Christ through a focused discipleship program, reinforced by a Discipleship Journal that can be used for both daily devotions and life group discussions.  You can view this Journal on the "home" page.

God calls people together for special times and special purposes.  God has called us together to build a community where people can Know Christ.  This calling is expressed in our values, in our worship, in our Life Groups, and lived out as we meet the needs of the community around us.

Weekend Worship

Liturgy

In the book of Acts and the Epistles (the letters to the churches in the New Testament), there are indications of what Christians did when they met together.  They sang, heard the Scriptures read and explained, remembered and proclaimed the death of Jesus, and offered prayers not only for themselves but for all people.  In time, Christians developed forms and patterns for this type of gathering which we call liturgy.  Our worship is decidedly liturgical... but fresh!  We work to keep the liturgy intelligible in language and appropriate to our time and culture.

Music

Worship through music can also a very important part of our worship. We include everything from classic hymns to the latest contemporary Christian songs.

Life Groups

Life groups are the essential building block of Epiphany Anglican Fellowship, providing the place for both Community and Mission, so that we can truly build a community where people can "Know Christ" and "Live Christ."

Life groups enable a robust Community by providing a place to practice the Christian life together.  In life groups you can be known and loved for who you are currently, while being challenged to grow into the person God designed you to be. You can practice the Christian Life and learn how to understand the Scriptures, care for others, pray effectively, and use your gifts.

Life groups also provide a vehicle for impacting neighborhoods for Jesus. No single person has all the gifts for the Church; it is a Body after all! You see the needs around your homes. You see the way Jesus could change the people with whom you interact. You have better ideas, goals and dreams for the people in your neighborhood than any bureaucratic system could. So, why not empower you and your life group of Jesus Followers to help people Know Christ... neighborhood by neighborhood.

Vision

The aspen grove, a community of free standing trees with an interdependent root system, symbolizes our vision of organic, multiplying Christian Fellowships, all rooted in Jesus - as the center of our life and mission, tying together life groups and congregations throughout Colorado. We value our ancient traditions and historic faith, while reaching to love and serve those who are lost or hurting.

As individuals, and as a believing community within the worldwide Anglican family, our mission is to bring the Good News of Jesus to those who need Him.  Both those who have church experience, but have found it unsatisfying, and those who have no church experience and are seeking answers.  We are called to reach out to all people, and some in our congregation have been called by God to focus on young adults, and single or two parent families with children still at home who live in Central Northern Colorado.

We will get to know Jesus and to make Him known in the context of authentic community.

The values we hold dear:

  • Prayer - The first thing, the main thing
  • Transformation - Jesus transforms us and the world
  • Holy Spirit - We need the Holy Spirit to be all we can be
  • Community - We are committed to discovering God in community
  • Holy Communion - Holy Communion is a primary means of grace
  • Children - God communicates with children
  • Giving - God gives Himself for us and inspires us to give ourselves for others
  • The Bible - Our standard containing all that is necessary for salvation
  • Strategy

We are called to build this believing community by establishing Life Transformation Groups of two or three individuals committed to challenging and supporting each other in their walk with Christ.  These then invite others and grow from groups of two or three, to larger "home" fellowship groups, or Life Groups, dedicated to serving one another and the children in their midst.

All who are being called to work in this mission will gather as His Church for Worship and Holy Communion on a regular basis for encouragement, prayer, empowering and the building up of the body of Jesus Christ.

We do all of this to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandments of God.  Jesus said:

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I command you;" (Matthew 28:19-20).

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-38)

Other scriptures that form us are:

Jesus said: "Wherever two or three are gathered in My name there am I in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:20)

"They devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers...........Day by day they spent much time together in the Temple, and they broke bread from house to house......" (Acts 2:42,46)

The highest priority flowing out of this commission and these commandments is to love people so much, praying for them and with them and caring for them that they meet Jesus and grow to love Him.

    Anglican Mission in America (AMIA)

The Anglican Mission in America exists to glorify God and to serve, grow, and multiply local churches that love Jesus Christ and reach the world He died to save (John 3:16-17; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:14-47).

Additionally, we seek to create an alliance of congregations in America that are committed to gathering, planting, and serving dynamic churches in the Anglican tradition.

    The Anglican Mission is:

  • United in the essentials of the Christian faith - obedient to Jesus Christ as the unique Son of God who through His sacrificial death and resurrection provides the only way to the Father.
  • Diversified in the expression of the faith - evangelical, anglo-catholic and charismatic - three streams flowing as one river in Jesus Christ . . .
  • while seeking to reach a hurting world in Jesus' Name through evangelism, discipleship, and service.
