Epiphany Anglican Fellowship

Community

Knowing Christ is best done in Community and by Worshiping Christ, Experiencing Christ, and Sharing Christ. We fulfill the great Mission to which God has called us: To Know Jesus and to Make Him Known in the context of Authentic Community!  To accomplish this mission our church is built around gathering in various locations on Sundays for community liturgical worship including scripture, teaching, prayer, singing and Holy Eucharist as well as in weekly small groups.  God calls people together for special times and special purposes. God has called us together to build a community where people can Know Christ. This calling is expressed in our values and lived out as we meet the needs of the community around us.

Sunday Morning Worship

Liturgy

In the book of Acts and the Epistles, there are indications of what Christians did when they met together. They sang, heard the Scriptures read and explained, remembered and proclaimed the death of Jesus, and offered prayers not only for themselves but for all people. In time, Christians developed forms and patterns for this type of gathering which we call liturgy. Our worship is decidedly liturgical... but fresh! We work to keep the liturgy intelligible in language and appropriate to our time and culture.

Music

Worship through music is a very important part of our worship services.  Each Epiphany site has a worship music team that includes selections from classic hymns to the latest contemporary Christian songs for Sunday services.  This worship is led by various instruments depending on the site.

Life Groups

Small groups are the essential building block of Epiphany Anglican Fellowship providing the place for both Community and Mission impact so that we can truly build a community where people can “Know Christ”.

Life Groups provide robust Community by providing a place to practice the Christian life together. In small groups you can be known and loved for who you are currently while being challenged to grow into the person God designed you to be. Through Bible discussion, prayer, sharing and mission, you can experience the abundant life Jesus desires for you and all who trust Him!  No Bible knowledge or previous church experience is required.

“You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you.  Then you shall be My witnesses…in all the earth.” – Jesus in Acts 1:8

Small groups also provide a vehicle for impacting neighborhoods for Jesus. No single person has all the gifts for the Church; it is a Body after all! You see the needs around your homes. You see the way Jesus could change the people with whom you interact. You have better ideas, goals and dreams for the people in your neighborhood than any bureaucratic system could. So, why not empower you and your small group of Jesus? Followers to help people Know Christ... neighborhood by neighborhood.

Vision

The aspen grove, a community of free standing trees with an interdependent root system, symbolizes out vision of organic, multiplying Christian Fellowships, all rooted in Jesus as the center of our life and mission, tying together small groups and congregations throughout Colorado. We value our ancient traditions and historic faith while reaching to love and serve those who are lost or hurting.

Our “DNA”

D – Divine Living: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind [and strength].” (Matt. 22:37). Jesus is the Lord of my life. I am filled with the Holy Spirit. Reflected in developing a personal life of prayer, worship and walking with the Lord.

N – Nurturing Relationships: “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and “...love one another as I have loved you.”  (Matt. 22:38; John 15:12). I will be open with and accountable to others in leadership. Expresses itself by living in authentic Christian community through small groups and friendships.

AApostolic Mission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matt. 28:19-20). I am committed to being a missionary. Expresses itself by involvement in “middle space” events, engaging in spiritual conversations with others, and participating in outreach and evangelistic ministries.

Strategy

We are called to build this believing community by establishing Life Transformation Groups of two or three who invite others and multiply from groups of two or three to larger "home" fellowship dedicated to serving one another and the children in their midst.

All who are being called to work in this mission will gather as His Church for Worship and Holy Communion on a regular basis for encouragement, prayer, empowering and the building up of the body of Jesus Christ.

We do all of this to fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandments of God. Jesus said:

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I command you;" (Matthew 28:19-20).

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-38)

Other scriptures that form us are:

Jesus said: "Wherever two or three are gathered in My name there am I in the midst of them" (Matthew 18:20)

"They devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers...........Day by day they spent much time together in the Temple, and they broke bread from house to house......" (Acts 2:42,46)

The highest priority flowing out of this commission and these commandments is to love people so much, praying for them and with them and caring for them that they meet Jesus and grow to love Him.

Anglican Mission in America (AMIA)

The Anglican Mission in America exists to glorify God and to serve, grow, and multiply local churches that love Jesus Christ and reach the world He died to save (John 3:16-17; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:14-47).

Additionally, we seek to create an alliance of congregations in America that are committed to gathering, planting, and serving dynamic churches in the Anglican tradition.

The Anglican Mission is:

  • United in the essentials of the Christian faith - obedient to Jesus Christ as the unique Son of God who through His sacrificial death and resurrection provides the only way to the Father.
  • Diversified in the expression of the faith - evangelical, anglo-catholic and charismatic - three streams flowing as one river in Jesus Christ . . .
  • while seeking to reach a hurting world in Jesus' Name through evangelism, discipleship, and service.
