Epiphany
The word epiphany comes from the Greek epiphaneia, meaning “manifestation.” The feast of Epiphany celebrates God’s revelation of Jesus as the savior of the world, specifically at his baptism and at the visitation of the three wise men from the East. More generally, it celebrates God’s revelation of Jesus to the whole world, including to us!
“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” - Heb 12:28-29
“This passage reflects the spirit and focus of Epiphany. We begin with gratitude for being made members of the kingdom (as yet unseen). We enter into worship with reverence and awe through our traditional Anglican model, and by consuming and being consumed by our Lord Jesus Christ in Holy Communion, we become sanctified more and more each day.” - Fr. Patrick Dorn
